Working on the Work (WOW) is an annual, 4-part, FREE training series designed specifically for school-based teams of educators to deepen understanding, achieve consensus, and build success strategies for local implementation of Educator Effectiveness.

The 2016-17 WOW lineup of speakers includes top-tier leaders in education, offering your team access to some of the best minds in our field.

Eric Twadell (Aug 18 & 19, 2016) As a highly dedicated Professional Learning Community (PLC) practitioner, Eric works with organizations and schools at the national level to achieve school improvement and reform.

Chris Jakicic (Oct 10 & 11, 2016) Chris is a national leader in using data conversations to interpret classroom information for effective instruction. She emphasizes effective teaming as the heart of effective PLCs.

Tim Brown (Jan 31 & Feb 1, 2017) Twenty-eight years of experience has positioned Tim as an expert in helping schools develop collaborative learning environments and PLCs that lead to higher achievement for students.

Mike Mattos (Apr 26 & 27, 2017) Mike is an internationally known practitioner, author, presenter who specializes in uniting school communities to transform schools through response to intervention and PLCs.

Teacher Standards
WES6The teacher uses effective verbal and nonverbal communication techniques as well as instructional media and technology to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.
WES8The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of the pupil.
WES9The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effect of his or her choices and actions on pupils, parents, professionals in the learning community and others and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
WES10The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well being and who acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner.
Administrator Standards
WAS1The administrator has an understanding of and demonstrates competence in the teacher standards under s. PI 34.02.
WAS2The administrator leads by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared by the school community.
WAS3The administrator manages by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to pupil learning and staff professional growth.
WAS4The administrator ensures management of the organization, operations, finances, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
