Bill Banks has developed strategies to prepare initial and professional educators, mentors, and administrators with the tools necessary to deeply engage students in their own learning, in order to achieve uncommon results both academically and personally in the classroom. The strategies he presents are broadly embedded in the teacher practices sought in the Educator Effectiveness programs, are research-based and classroom proven. Participants will learn the skills necessary to change the central focus of their classroom instruction from what is being taught to what students are learning.
Topics include:
- Formative Assessment
- Literacy Across the Curriculum initiatives
- Differentiation of Instruction
- Response to Intervention
Each session will cover different strategies, designed for teachers to be able to immediately implement in their classrooms. Teachers are active participants in each session, where their own needs and goals will determine the direction for the day. You may attend any or all of the dates, as each will be different.
