Course Description
Add+VantageMath RecoveryTM (AVMR) Course 1 is a unique approach to professional development, assessment and teaching in mathematics. The AVMR program is designed to provide teachers with efficient and effective assessment tools to recognize their students’ current understanding of number concepts, and to support data-driven instruction.

Course Objectives

  • Learn to use effective assessments that reveal students’ true conceptual understanding and level of proficiency with computation and number sense. 
  • Practice informed assessment techniques and develop processes for incorporating these practices into your instruction. 
  • Apply teaching strategies to guide development of mathematical reasoning.
  • Utilize current resources to address learning needs of students.

Graduate Credits
Two (2) graduate credits are available with this course through the University of Wyoming.  The graduate credit fee is $100.  If interested in taking this course for graduate credit then paperwork and payment will be required to be completed and submitted on Day 1 of the course - July 21st.

Cancellation Policy: Any registration cancellation must be received, in writing, at least 5 business days before the first session date for a refund to be issued. Because attendance is limited, participants not in attendance at any course sessions will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel the course due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone of cancellation.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
