Teaching Strategies to Improve Algebra Instruction

We will spend the day digging into many resources on how to prepare EVERY student to be successful in algebra.

  1. Share research from the new IES practice guide: Teaching strategies to improve algebra instructions in MS/HS students
  2. Deep dive in the K-8 document that shows progression of algebra across the domains leading up to high school
  3. Grounding information from Making Sense of Algebra, by Goldenburg
  4. Practice activities from Transition to Algebra
  5. Investigate strategies to make math more accessible to ELL and Sped students
  6. Models as strategies: factoring and solving equations.

CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.
