ACP Initiative

Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, legislation requires every school board to provide ACP services to all pupils enrolled in grades 6-12. ACP is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post-secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration and the development of career management and planning skills.

To prepare for the statewide implementation of ACP, CESA 8 is offering districts ACP process training and implementation support. This project is intended to mirror DPI’s ACP pilot, while giving districts a head-start on planning for the initiative.

Workshop objectives:

  • Understand the content of ACP in Wisconsin
  • Envision the future of ACP implementation through Career-Infused Education
  • Lead organizational change
  • Develop partnerships to support ACP implementation

Expectations:

  • Attend two one-day workshops
    • February 1, 2016 -- 9-3, CESA 8 and March 7, 2016 -- 9-3
  • Bring a team
    • Highly recommended – a multi-level 6-12 team including building level administrators, school counselors, secondary educators, CTE teachers, and special education instructors
  • Participate in discussions

Cost:  CIA member districts $150 per team member; Nonmembers $300 per team member.

Special discount for district teams. Every 5th member of a team is free.
