Technology for Struggling Students

Presenter: Cindy Nankee,  Assistive Technology Professional and a Registered Occupational Therapist with 30 years of school-based practice.

Part 2: Reading and Writing for Middle and High School Students (12:45 - 3:00 p.m.)

This session will address reading and writing accessibility using mobile devices for middle and high school students. Participants will learn about Bookshare for alternate format textbooks and supplemental materials, eBook readers and iPads built in accessibility features. Writing topics will include an efficient process for providing digital worksheets, apps for read aloud and annotating worksheets. Activities will be directed toward high school but also important for elementary students.

Audience:  Special Educators, OTs, Speech/Language Pathologists

NOTE: Bring your mobile devices and switch equipment for hands-on learning and one:one assistance.  Additional online resources will be provided for conintued self-study.

COST:  $15.00

 

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
