Remediation Plus

Remediation Plus’ mission is to create a PLC of research-based teacher interventionists in a school district for young early struggling children. We developed the R+ System explicit systematic lesson plans in a reading clinic for identified children in Toronto Canada based on the compelling research findings of the NICHD. It didn`t take long to see many students soar and the need for their special education placement frequently unnecessary.

The randomized controlled study in a Wisconsin school district is proving that when teachers are given the tools & training, we can reach our goals of improving literacy and greatly reducing special education numbers! On the whole, a minimum of half of the 85 systematic lesson plan pull outs will improve reading (phonemic awareness and phonics), spelling, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and writing by 2-3 grade levels. Those with minimum gains should remain in the systematic delivery because they are probably dyslexic! We`ll discuss double deficit kids during training.

As the previous executive director of a private school for struggling students  as well as a personal journey, Jo-Anne, President, Founder of R+ Systems saw the need for a supportive curriculum of explicit systematic lesson plans to help teachers reach their goal of honoring research based intervention during the daily 30 minute pull  out sessions! Without the support of such a curriculum, the endeavor IS DIFFICULT to replicate!

Every teacher participating in the training must have their own kit! These kits are teacher licenses with no renewable annual costs at this time. The kit costs $3000 and with the support of Remediation+ we are able to offer the System to all participants for $2100.

Cost: $300 per participant for CESA 8 - CIA or Literacy Member School Districts for the two-day training  + $2100 for the Remediation+ System Kit;  $500 for all others + $2100 for Kit. All participants must have their own kit. You will have the option in myquickreg to order a kit through CESA 8 with the discounted price of $2100. We will bill your district for it along with your registration fees. 

Cancellations (within 72 hours of workshop) and any no-shows of this workshop will be billed full price.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
