Federal law requires that all students identified as English Language Learners (ELLs) be assessed annually for English language proficiency. This requirement includes students who require special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The Alternate ACCESS for ELLs is an English language proficiency test for students in grades 1-12 who are classified as ELLs and have significant cognitive disabilities.

Workshop objectives:

· The goal of this workshop is to certify you as a test administrator for the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs.

Who should attend?

· Special education teachers, school psychologists, ESL teachers or other certified staff working closely with ELLs with severe  cognitive disabilities.

· Anyone who needs to administer the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs test.

Registration fee: (Fee includes materials and continental breakfast)

  • $38 per participant for CESA 6 Title III Consortium members
  • $90 per participant for non-consortium member

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
