The CESA 5 Gifted and Talented Coordinators' Network Meetings are designed to build a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and collegial support through the interaction of the group. This meeting will provide tools and resources to facilitate your GT educator professional development

Discussion topics at the February 11th meeting may include GT grant advisory planning (for 2016-17), Game Design for STEM Learning updates (2015-16 GT Grant), Differentiation strategies for GT, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for GT students, CWTAG events planning, model GT programs, developing program plans, cooperative work groups and more.

Members are asked to submit agenda items to Dorothy Ginnett, ginnettd@cesa5.org
A tentative agenda will be distributed to members prior to the meeting.

Facilitator information:
Dorothy Ginnett is the Science Curriculum Specialist for CESA 5. She is a WI Professional Educator and has experience teaching in the CESA 5 region, both secondary (6 - 12) and college-level science in face-to-face, blended and fully online classrooms. Dorothy also has experience teaching professional development courses in Environmental Science for K-12 Educators. Dorothy earned a Ph. D. in Wildlife Ecology and serves as an Online Advisor for the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).

Pupil Services
WPS1The pupil services professional understands the teacher standards under s. PI 34.02.
WPS2The pupil services professional understands the complexities of learning and knowledge of comprehensive, coordinated practice strategies that support pupil learning, health, safety and development.
WPS3The pupil services professional has the ability to use research, research methods and knowledge about issues and trends to improve practice in schools and classrooms.
Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
