Description

Data is available that will assist school districts in early identification of students who need support.  A Dropout Early Warning System (DEWS) score is available for all students in grades 6-9, each year in WISEdash for Districts.  The data will help you to identify students who are showing potential for low achievement, those who are currently under achieving, and the students who are in danger of dropping out altogether.  This workshop will provide the time and direction to access and interpret your students’ DEWS scores.  We will share a process by which to review this critical data and that will help you determine your next steps to increase student achievement and school improvement.

Additionally, your district may qualify for additional support services from CESA 6 based upon your data analysis.

Objectives

  • Learn the purpose of the Wisconsin Dropout Early Warning System (DEWS)
  • Explore the information that the DEWS scores provide
  • Utilize a process for reviewing the DEWS data in your district/school(s)
  • Network with others about how they have used this data to increase student achievement and district/school improvement
